2023 MOHR Spring Training Conference 'Changing Gears With an Eye On The Future'
The 2023 MOHR Spring Training Conference was a roaring success, with a record 250 attendees connecting, learning, sharing, and energizing one another in a new venue in St. Cloud May 15-17. The theme was “Changing Gears With An Eye On The Future,” and all indications were that attendees are and will be doing exactly that.
Conference sessions ran along three tracks - direct service, admin, and mid-management and leadership – drawing a diverse and complementary group of learners and contributors.
Ted Schick kicked off the conference with a keynote entitled, “The Evolution of Serving Others,” getting attendees in the mood to think differently and make room for growth. Ted brought together his knowledge of the disability services community and 20 years of experience as a U.S. naval seaman and officer. He has a combined 26 years of teaching experience, from U.S. Navy instructor to High School teacher to Corporate Trainer and owner of Schick Corporate Learning.
Individual sessions were led by MOHR members, trainer-consultants, experts in organizational transformation, and many more. A capstone keynote featuring four people served by MOHR members brought it all together by highlighting how far providers and the disability community have come over the years, and displaying the promise and reality of what people living with a disability can create and achieve.
