Benefits of Membership

MOHR is a 501(c)6 association of 100 providers serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). MOHR works to advance employment and a wide array of learning and enrichment services for people with disabilities.

MOHR offers the following membership benefits:

1. Be heard and be seen:

  • Your experiences are shared with 100 other providers, shaping the direction of services across the state.
  • Members define legislative and regulatory priorities, and MOHR’s partner lobbyists project our collective voice at the capitol and beyond, influencing resource allocations, system design and implementation, and much more for the betterment of those we serve.
  • MOHR leaders connect with key DHS staff to help keep members current, and to inform decisions and broader direction where needed.
  • MOHR’s public relations work helps communicate the importance and value of what we all do to the state and the world, sharing success stories and making a compelling case for members and the people they support.

2. Connect, learn, and grow:

  • MOHR members share ideas, questions, challenges, and solutions through member calls, an online communications portal, a secure member’s area on this site, one-to-one connections and more.
  • MOHR training events help members stay current and also share best practices with one another. Conferences, webinars, and other venues keep information and energy flowing!
  • Member leaders and staff access role models and mentors, and are afforded multiple opportunities to strengthen and demonstrate leadership and other skills by contributing to training, and by being part of MOHR’s operating structure.

3. Be part of the largest Minnesota community of IDD providers and leaders:

  • MOHR is member-led and member-driven, reducing bureaucracy and costs, keeping dues reasonable.
  • An all-volunteer board of directors provides leadership and ensures members from every part of the state are represented in decision making.
  • Members lead and operate multiple committees, spanning government affairs, public relations, training, member value, and more.
