As 2025 comes to a close, it is a good time to reflect on all of the good that happened this past year. For MOHR, it was another year of growth, collaboration, and progress made. As an association, my hope is that you met a member (or two) that you hadn’t known before, you found beneficial information in a training opportunity that MOHR provided, you were made aware of legislative gains or crucial items that we were able to retain, or that you just found a willing ear of a colleague that can identify with the work we do. The benefits of MOHR are many, but sometimes we forget to use them to the fullest or to recognize and appreciate how we have benefited from our membership.
I look forward to 2026 with renewed hope. Hope that MOHR can have a successful legislative session, that we continue to raise our visibility as the vital service providers that we are, that we “get a seat at the table” in meaningful discussions and decisions, and that we continue to lean on and learn from our colleagues. I continue to hope that our members stay healthy, that we meet and engage with each other, that we provide support to all MOHR committees – all of whom are doing very important work, and that we remember why we made the life choice to make a difference.
In the coming weeks, I hope you can spend time with the people who are important to you, celebrating special occasions or simply taking time to restore your energy.
I wish you a happy and healthy 2026,
Robin Harkonen
