Thank you to everyone who attended the 2026 MOHR Legislative Conference and took the time to participate in our survey and small-group World Café discussions. Your engagement, ideas, and honest feedback provided valuable insight into the challenges and opportunities facing our members.
While we know we have a difficult road ahead, the encouraging news is that the themes that emerged from both the survey and discussion groups were remarkably consistent. Members identified several key priorities, including protecting sustainable funding, strengthening and retaining the workforce, improving coordination across systems and agencies, reducing administrative burdens, supporting employment outcomes, and ensuring that program integrity efforts do not create barriers to service access.
Most importantly, your feedback will help shape MOHR's Government Affairs Committee workplan for the coming year. We have already shared the information gathered with our committees and workgroups so they can take a deeper dive into members' priorities and develop recommendations, advocacy strategies, and educational opportunities that reflect the issues most important to our provider community.
Beyond the policy discussions, the conference once again demonstrated one of MOHR's greatest values: the opportunity to connect with colleagues across the state. Members consistently appreciated the time to discuss issues, exchange ideas, build relationships, and learn from the expertise of fellow providers. The conference received positive feedback, and many participants specifically noted the value of member-to-member dialogue and collaboration.
Thank you for being present, sharing your expertise, and supporting one another. Together, we are building a stronger provider community and a stronger voice for people with disabilities throughout Minnesota. Your participation helps ensure that MOHR's advocacy, education, and policy work remains grounded in the real-world experiences of providers and the people we support every day.
